The irf3 is a third generation interface and remote rf functions circuit board. The irf3 resides in the cam (combined mgd and asc) chassis. The irf3 primarily serves as a communications hub within the cam chassis, supporting communication with one or two remote receiver devices (rrx), one or two remote exciter devices (dtx), and the xgd gradient subsystem via five identical high-speed serial fiber optic interfaces implementing the dvmr common communications link. It also provides some irf legacy functions, such as powering and interfacing with the irf-io, providing a push-button reset switch for cam reset, and provides 4 dabout control signals on its’ front panel. The irf3 board can be used with brivo 355, discovery 750 3.0t and optima 360 1.5t systems.
