The Source to Image Distance (SID) Sensor Board is used on the XT Suspension system for detecting the position of the X-ray tube for auto collimation and interlocks. The board consists of 5 hall effect sensors and is used to measure the magnitude of the magnetic field. The magnets actuate the hall sensors on the circuit board as the XT suspension is moved about the room. It is specially used for positioning, speed detection and current sensing application. This board finish is really helpful to the PCB, which does not allow the PCB to suffer from yellow or black discoloration which will indicate contamination. It is flame resistant and also possesses good electrical and mechanical properties. All the properties of this material helps to ensure the long-life span of the circuit board.
