Product Overview

The Diaphragm Actuated Relief Valve component comes in Positive Inspiratory Pressure (PIP) circuit under integrated resuscitation system in a warmer, which is used to provide a quick neonatal resuscitation therapy. Resuscitation is a process of clearing the airways, assisting breathing and providing oxygen or medical air/oxygen mixture for circulation in newborn babies who have difficulty in adjusting to external environment outside uterus which can lead to respiratory related issues. The PIP circuit limits the airway pressure of air and is adjustable by the user. The circuit consists of a PIP valve, restrictors and bleeds, and diaphragm actuated relief valves beginning with the PIP regulator. Gas from the PIP regulator passes through the valve, through the restrictors and bleeds and to the relief valve. The relief valve body has an orifice open to atmosphere and it is obstructed by a diaphragm when the diaphragm is pressurized. As long as the effective diaphragm pressure is greater than the pressure on the flow inside, the flow proceeds to the patient with no loss to atmosphere. When the pressure in the gas flow circuit exceeds the effective pressure of the diaphragm, it allows the airway pressure to relieve to atmosphere through orifice.
