The Needle Valve Kit N₂O is provided as a part of flow head module. It is a flow control valve which controls the rate of gas flow in a flow meter by adjusting variable orifice thus providing an active adjustable flow. As the valve is opened, the orifice around the needle becomes larger and flow increases. The valve contains a control knob which is color coded for each gas thus making it easier to distinguish between O₂ and N₂O gases. The control knob is small and conical in shape. Manual rotation of knob increases or decreases the flow. The needle valve kit contains a needle valve with body, clip, seat and bushing, a compression spring, O-rings and thrust washers. It provides a simple means of regulating gas flow rate and hence is used in various anesthesia delivery systems.
